Emily I'm sorry that you did not have a great excperience with Dr. Alison Clarke De Souza. She is by far the best doctor in the state of Florida, maybe even in the US. She is competent, efficient, knowledgable, precise, professional and has a keen sense of judgement. Her decisions with her patients are admirable and sound.
I will recommend this Dr. to anyone. She delivered my two children and they are perfectly healthy and normal. She is fabulous.
If anyone gets Dr. De Souza as their OBGYN I consider them very lucky!
You just had a poor experience, rethink ur decision and see if you are lucky enough to get back an appointment to be her patient!

I feel like they go out of their way to accommodate my schedule. I always get the appointment time I want. They went out of their way to make me feel special and respected, and were very sympathetic to my situation. I've never seen more kindness and empathy anywhere else. I couldn't believe how knowledgeable and well-informed the staff was. They were able to answer all my questions, except the ones they needed to have their boss's input on. It was great to be able to talk to such a skilled staff. My whole experience at this office was above average starting with their very comfortable waiting room chairs. They were fantastic.
They always return my phone calls quickly. I always know that I'll get a prompt answer to my question.

The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all. Their staff is very friendly and professional. The one thing that I really enjoy about this place is their high level of customer service. Their full attention is always on me and they never take personal calls during my appointment. I've been to other places that answer their phone and it just drives me crazy. They gave me sufficient information to make a decision about my treatment plan.

I had a horrible overall experience with Desouza. Desouza and her medical staff are incompetent and unprofessional. First of all I went there 3 times before I even met the doctor. When I did met her she was in a rush and was very cold. She was not informative and has no bed side manner. The office seems to want money and they don't care about the patient. At one point I went to the ER for bleeding and received blood work. The medical staff at Memorial told me that I needed my blood taken again in 2 days to see if hormone levels were normal. I followed up with Desouza the next day and they agreed to take my blood again on Tuesday and made me an appointment. On Tuesday I went back and Desouza office did my blood work. Then they say they can't use the hospitals results and they have to test it again themselves. This makes no sense but I agreed. Also when they take my blood they never get it right the first time. The girl taking the blood does not know what she is doing and always has to call the office manager for help. Then they advised me that I possibly have an etopic pregnancy based on the placement of the baby in my uterus. They didn't give me much info and they scared me to death. Then I find out I only have a 10% chance of etopic. Then they make me an appointment at Coral Springs Medical Center to confirm that I am not etopic. In my ultra sound I was informed I was not etopic and the technician was confused as to why the doctor thought it was. The next day I went back to Desouza and surprise surprise she wanted to do another ultra sound for insurance money I am sure. Anyway she did the ultra sound herself but she rushed through it in like less than 3 minutes. She said everything was fine but she didn't do any measurements or take the heart rate. Again she was in a rush and not thorough. At that point I wanted to find another doctor so I did. When it came to retrieving my medical records it was a nightmare. I called them 3 seperate times and asked them to fax my medical records. All three times they asked if i had signed the waiver to have my records release and I said I had. It was never faxed finally they called and tried to get me to come in for another appointment. I advised them I didn't need an appointment but I wanted my medical records. Desouza's office tried to talk me into a final check up but I stated no. When I went in I was informed that Desouza wanted a consultation with me. I went int to an office to wait for her. Again she was in a rush she came in and told me that I needed to be careful because I may have an etopic. I informed her that I already had an ultra sound at the hospital and they informed me if was etopic. De souza advised me that she had a copy of the ultrasound. She then walked out after less than 2 minutes what a consultation. After reviewing my medical records I realized she was reading from an old ultrasound not from my hospital ultrasound.

She is clearly incompetent and I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with Desouza. Pregnancy is stressful enough without added stress from an incompetent doctor. For any pregnant women I say stay away from that place I don't know how they are still in business.

It was nice to hear how much the staff respected them. It made me that much more confident that I was under the care of a professional. They knocked before entering the exam room, which I found to be very professional. I always have the best experience every time I have an appointment here. Although I have not had much to complain about, I have noticed that they strongly adhere to the customer is always right policy and if anything goes wrong make every effort to correct the situation. They made sure that their qualifications were obvious. I was confident that I was under the care of a professional. I don't know of anywhere else that would've taken better care of me. I had a great experience.
