I was given a polite greeting when I walked in. It was nice to be acknowledged. They made sure that their qualifications were obvious. I was confident that I was under the care of a professional. I love that they never cancel their appointments last minute here. I can always count on them to be there for me. If I couldn't find anyone better, I'd return again, but I'm hoping I can find better service somewhere else.

About 10 years ago I was a healthy guy who went for a simple check up to Dr. Cohen. Over the next 5 years, I spent hundreds of hours in Cohen’s waiting room and hundreds of dollars in copays. Cohen is notoriously known for overbooking, as apparently he doesn’t respect anyone’s time but his own. Time is money. Hence, I had to wait for more that 3 hours just to be seen for 2 minutes! Cohen labeled me with all kind of diagnoses, from hypertension to diabetes and heart disease. He placed me on numerous different medications in a combination that oftentimes raised the hair of my pharmacist. Each time I experienced side effects, Dr.Cohen just threw in another medication to counteract it. Under Dr.Cohen's care, I developed severe muscle pains, memory issues, heart pain, and ongoing headaches. My knees hurt so bad that I could barely walk. I felt sicker and sicker. My blood glucose became elevated after started on pravachol. Cohen said that this is likely onset of diabetes and wanted to start anti-diabetes medications. He also sent me for numerous invasive diagnostic procedures without providing any valid justification. Even the radiologist mentioned that ordering another CAT scan is absurd, extensive, and unnecessary as all the previous ones were negative. Dr.Cohen did not discussed any risk of these procedures with me nor bother to offer any safer alternatives. Then one day I saw letters in my chart from the radiology center and the cardiologist thanking Cohen for the patient’s referral. It is known fact that some physicians are getting kick back from drug companies, specialists, and diagnostic centers. Since then I lost trust and respect in this greedy doctor. I threw all the medications away and never came back to his office again. My health slowly improved to my previous healthy state. The laboratory values normalized. Out of curiosity, I went for an independent check up 12 months later to another physician. The MD found no evidence of diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease. Perhaps an incorrect measuring technique produced the high blood pressure values at Cohen’s office, he thinks. Today, I am still healthy and fine. However, because of all the unjustified diagnoses made by Dr. Cohen, it is almost impossible for me to obtain private insurance policy. Many insurances declined to cover me especially because of the diabetes and heart disease diagnosis. I'm also worry about the long-term health impact from all the invasive diagnostic procedures that Cohen ordered.
