There are many things to tell but I'll give a couple of examples to keep it brief. I was a 40 year old medical professional who had a planned pregnancy and wanted to use H&W again. My previous OB had retired and they assigned me to Dr L. After a car wreck at 8 mos. I had an SI injury and was forced to take leave from work because I couldn't lift my leg without severe pain. I wanted her to be the one to give me medication beauase she would know whats best for the baby. She refused to give me anything. I had to go to a physician that I worked with to get Tylenol #3. I was bedridden for 2 months and in excruciating pain. I asked her to please induce me at 39 weeks and she said that if I would agree to an amnio that she would induce. I thought about it and called her back to tell her I would do it and she then refused. I had to be induced at 40 weeks. During the course of labor my baby's heart rate kept dropping and the nurse would have me get on my hands and knees while she went to call Dr L. She came back and did fetal scalp stimulation and it helped. This scenario occurred several times during the 10 hours I was in labor. The nurse told me that the cord was wrapped around the baby's neck. His heart rate kept dropping but Dr L would not come and do a c-section. Once I started pushing the head would come out and and then go back in because of the cord. After 30 minutes of on and off crowning, around 5 pm she finally showed up. She refused to c-section me. the baby was stuck because of the cord and she pulled and tugged until she was red int he face. She had to reach inside and unwrap the cord to get him out. When he finally came out he was purple and in respiratory distress. He made it in spite of the odds. After the traumatic delivery my bottom was so damage that I couldn't put my legs together due to the swelling. They had to keep me few day until I could walk again. She never bothered to re-visit me during my post-partum stay. This is the kind of compassionate care Dr Lassiter delivers.
