Dr Lim attended the University of Texas and the University of Houston for his undergraduate degree and received a post-graduate degree as a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston in 1976. After two years of Optometric practice, Dr Lim returned to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and received his Doctor Of Medicine degree in 1982.
Dr Lim's post-graduate medical training began with his internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston and continued through three years of ophthalmology residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
