Dr Ronald E Smith Jr., MD is a lifelong Cincinnatian. He graduated from the UC College of Medicine in 1996 and then completed his residency in the UC Categorical Internal Medicine Residency Program in 1999. He served an additional year as Chief Medical Resident, teaching and leading residents and medical students at University Hospital and the Veterans Administration Hospital. Upon completing his Chief year, he left academia to pursue and grow a new opportunity and discipline in Cincinnati- Hospital Medicine- with Group Health Associates. Starting at Good Samaritan Hospital in 2000, he helped develop and grow the hospitalist program at GH and GSH, winning a residency teaching award as well.
