John Howington, MD

John Howington, MD, is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon. Dr Howington most recently served as Chief of Oncology Services and Chair of Thoracic Surgery with Saint Thomas Health (Nashville, TN), and as a professor in the Department of Clinical Medical Education at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. He also served as medical director and co-chair for the Ascension Oncology Service Line in 2019-2020. Dr Howington is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American College of Chest Physicians, and is currently serving as president designate of the latter. He is a member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, Society of Thoracic Surgery and International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer.
