Dr Pineyro, born in the Dominican Republic, developed a passion for medicine through volunteering. He recognized the need for mental health services while working in rural and tourist areas. Motivated, he pursued training in the United States and was fortunate to train in the challenging and diverse Bronx in NYC. He seized an excellent opportunity in a Consultation Liaison Psychiatry fellowship, combining general medicine and psychiatry for underserved populations. Post-graduation, he gained experience in inpatient, outpatient, collaborative care, and consultation services over the last 3 years.
