Dr. Tuchinskaya’s passion for helping others is what led her to choose a career in health care, but her specific interest in audiology came from witnessing her grandmother’s struggle with hearing loss and the impact it had on her physical and emotional well-being. “I knew I wanted to help others avoid the frustration and sense of isolation that my grandmother experienced as a result of her untreated hearing loss,” she says.
Dr. Tuchinskaya is fluent in English and Russian and proficient in Spanish. When not with patients, Dr. Tuchinskaya loves to read, travel, take photographs, and spend time with her cat. She also has a book review blog. She has participated in the Walk4Hearing and is a supporter of breast cancer research.

Mariya Tuchinskaya, AuD, F-AAA, CCC-A is a member of Summit Health's Audiology team. Dr. Tuchinskaya works to identify, assess, and manage disorders of hearing, balance and other auditory processing disorders in patients ranging in age from newborns to older adults. She has special interest in tinnitus as well as the differences in speech discrimination between monolingual and bilingual speakers of English.
