Smita Sharma, MBBS, MD

As a breast imager, I interpret mammography, breast ultrasounds, breast MRIs and perform biopsies of suspicious findings using ultrasound, mammography, and MRI guidance. We use state-of-the-art technologies, such as the digital breast tomosynthesis (3-D mammography). I am proud to be a part of a team where our breast imaging centers are using northeast Florida's first FDA-approved artificial intelligence software system which not only enhances the accuracy of diagnosis of early and treatable breast cancer but also helps significantly reduce unnecessary testing. Additionally, I also consult with the breast surgeons and the medical and radiation oncologists regarding appropriate recommendations for necessary imaging and biopsy procedures.
