Dr Howard Zhang started his career as a pharmaceutical research chemist in Cincinnati. While drug discovery can make a huge contribution to society, he recognized that, as a doctor, he could truly make a difference in individual lives. He found a passion for gastroenterology and the wide range of conditions and challenges encountered during his early medical training. After completing an internal medical residency and a gastroenterology fellowship, he returned to Cleveland to join Kaiser Permanente. With more than 15 years of experience, Dr Zhang has served as chief of gastroenterology at healthcare systems in northeast Ohio and as clinical associate professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
