Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr Nguyen served nearly seven years in the United States Navy as a Surface Air Rescue Swimmer in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and in Law Enforcement for NATO Command in Agnano Naples, Italy. He earned his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from the University of South Florida. During medical school at the Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences, he was elected Class President.
