Swagel Wootton Eye Institute was founded in 1962 by Dr. James Wootton, with Dr. Lorin Swagel later joining to form Swagel Wootton Eye Institute. For 60 years, Swagel Wootton Eye Institute has been caring for the vision health need of the East Valley.

As an ophthalmology practice rooted in surgical and medical services, we place the needs of our patients first, investing in industry-leading technology, including advanced cataract lens implants, laser-assisted cataract surgery, Femtosecond and Wavelight® lasers, and Contoura® and Vario testing, to ensure patient safety, comfort, and high-quality results. I recently had my cataract surgery performed by Dr. Loan Ramsey from the Swagel Wootton Eye Institute in Mesa Arizona, 85206, 220 S. 63rd Street.
Dr. Ramsey MD is Board Certified, specializes in Ophthalmology and the Medical Director of Swagel Wootton. I had my first surgery on Feb. 1st, 2022, and then Feb. 8th for the second eye. Dr. Ramsy's staff was wonderful from the time I walked into the door to the exit after the completion. When I received my appointment dates and times, everything was done on schedule. Waiting? there was no waiting. Her organization from the entrance to the exit after my surgeries was wonderful. I received outstanding care from everyone, from the front desk in and out. Everyone was very professional and caring. I highly recommend Dr. Ramsey and her organization
