Sara grew up on a ranch near Kadoka, SD and attended BHSU for her undergraduate degree. She received her associate�s degree in nursing from the University of South Dakota�s Rapid City campus and then worked at Hans P Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip, SD. She moved back to the Black Hills to work on the medical-surgical and obstetrics units at Spearfish Hospital while finishing her bachelor�s degree in nursing through South Dakota State University (SDSU). Sara obtained her master�s degree in nursing from SDSU in 2003. She has worked at Monument Health Spearfish Clinic since 2004. Sara also provides on-campus medical care to students at Black Hills State University.
