profit-driven clinic. i was railroaded from outpatient to INpatient, worst experience ever. not the way to treat anxiety. lied to left and right, eventually released. didn't get the care i hoped for, but i DID get convinced to 'voluntarily' admit myself to inpatient. (NOTHING is voluntary after that point.) Facility is run-down, food is horrible and inadequate, group therapy is poorly structured, NO group activities on weekends or holidays, staff is mostly apathetic.
Not recovery oriented at all in the unit my son was in. It seemed like the patients were running the asylum and the staff was intimidated by them. rap music playing loudly with questionable lyrics. Psychiatrist would not confer with his regular psychiatrist. My son did not feel safe and my daughter and I were afraid for our safety while visiting on several occasions b/c the other patients were banging on the walls, ripping things off the walls, screaming, yelling and throwing things and the staff did nothing! Doctor would not return my phone calls or my son's psychiatris'ts phone calls. Not a good experience at all. It has really gone down hill since my son was there twelve years ago. Would not recommend for acute crisis.
