Not knowledgeable and caring person at all. He is just wants to fix up appointment every time and no initial test or procedure initiated from his side being primary Doctor, he just keeps refering to other specialists even without initial analysis done from his end. If he is calling for an appointment just to say to refer to other doctor, better we should have directly been told and gone inn first place. Worst, no care doctor.

I am writing on behalf of my now deceased sister-in-law. She came to Dr. Patel reporting weight loss and difficulty swallowing in early Feb. A swallow test was not ordered until almost a month later and my sister-in-law was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer by mid-March, metasticized brain tumor, and chest tumors. She died the first week of April..3 weeks after the shocking diagnosis.
Here's the million dollar question: when my sister-in-law came to you, did you even know her health history? Did you even know she was a smoker? Did you even know her father died of lung cancer at the age of 62? If you had known that, your first course of action should not have been to order a colonoscopy, ....How about a chest x-ray? why would you advise her husband to keep giving her ENSURE/BOOST to add nutrients and calories.....
The woman had lost over 40 pounds....do you not know that weight loss is one of the key potential symptoms of cancer?
Dr. Patel: you did not follow your Hippocratic oath: FIRST DO NO HARM...because you did cause harm, the harm of poor diagnosis, the harm of poor treatment...
Your recommendation of an endoscopic look at the esophagus sounded like a good idea...but clearly was not done well and was misread. How could the pinched esophagus due to chest tumors, NOT be found?
Again, did the gastroenterologist know the patient was a smoker? If not, why not?
Clearly great malpractice occurred.
Shame on you, Dr. Patel. I hope you do not contribute to another person's premature death and cause another family great pain.
