I like to help people. As a family physician, I sometimes treat several generations of a family. I may see the grandparent in a nursing home and then their child and grandchildren in my office. On a patient's first visit, I introduce myself, we discuss my philosophy of care and I answer their questions. I ask them to tell me about their health and their family's health. I try to make myself available to treat everyone as a family member, not as a medical subject.
