He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Chicago Hospital. He completed a fellowship in hand/upper extremity surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston.Dr. Brustein's desire to help people started at a young age. "Ever since the time that I was in junior high, I set myself up through high school and college to be a doctor," he says. "I really wanted to help people in a direct way."That desire also led him to his specializing in orthopedic and upper extremity surgery. "Orthopedic surgery allows me to do unique surgeries that can really improve people's lives in very clear, definable ways," he says.In his practice, Dr. Brustein focuses on injuries from the shoulder to the fingertip.
