Peace of Mind - All Thoughts

Posted by Alesha
No matter what we've experienced in the past, learn to live with yourself now and for the future. Take seriously every action you take or thing you say. Live with purpose. For instance, everything I do or say needs to build someone else up, not tears down. (Romans 14:19) \n\nI try to eliminate a complaining spirit and cultivate a loving, joyful one. When we realize that we find our purpose and joy in life, not by living for ourselves, but for others you will find peace of mind. (Ps 119:165)(1Th 5:13)“The peace of God that excels all thought will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.”—Phil. 4:7.

My peace of mind comes only from trusting in the love of a benevolent Heavenly Father and that all is in his hands.

Thinking positive thoughts helps to reduce negative feelings and sadness. I have a habit of worrying about small things health, weight and friendships. Now I realize that all this is unnecessary that there is an answer for everything, but not everyone has the patience for it.

For men to finally allow themselves relaxation while remaining productive and responsible seems almost revolutionary. It seemed to me if the look of being overwhelmed wasn`t on a mans face he either had a hefty bank roll or a new lover. On the TV news show, "60 Minutes", they explored todays worker. That is those with College Diplomas who approach their jobs in a new way. One that leaves Corporations needing training in dealing with this new attitude of "Me first so I can be productive, for the right salary of course". This is a group of our population currently under the age of 35. One employee made it clear to his Employer he was taking three hours a week off for yoga classes. And their wasn`t room for negotiation. It excited me to see this change in Corporate employment. The last 25 years have been gruesome. First the Unions that (in the least) provided fair wages and health Insurance were dismantled one by one. Then people who were turned down for promotions were suddenly told to team up and make a plan for better business. With no extra pay. And now we have a generation who is prepared for not sitting in the same job until retirement age, and not staying in the same career their entire working span. As wellas taking full responsibility for their own skill pathing and brain storming to improve business process. BUT - Making themselves, their health, and their families a priority over their jobs. Corporate Management is hiring experts to help deal with such esteemed employees. Who are much sooner to leave than to be terminated these days. In the very least this is revolutionary in theory. Americans as "the employee" are willing to go along with the Corporate initiative that ones` success relies solely on their ability not only to be qualified for the job (being the most educated work force in our Nations' History)and meet never ending changing demands in job descriptions. But the worker is now placing demands not solely in terms of salary and benefits. But also in terms of remaining "centered". Taking pro-active measures to sustain sense of esteem and worthiness regardless of the chaos of wall street. Or any other business environment. Folks are just leaving the office mid day for a dentist appointment or because the kids are acting out at school. Rather to replenish what they are disbursing amidst their energy and talents to their employers. And enforcing the employer to take part in this investment. How about them apples? Its about time !!!

I would constantly lie awake in bed worrying about every small problem in my life. It was causing me to lose sleep and thus affecting the next day and the next, and so on and so forth. I mentioned this pattern to a friend and his response was, "There's no point in stressing yourself out about something that you can't do anything about at that moment." It was one of those pieces of advice that immediately flips your behavior and changes the rest of your life.\n\nWhile I still find myself occasionally lying in bed sweating the small stuff, I now have a great piece of advice to give to myself when no one else is around to tell me everything will work itself out in the end.

Every time I am getting stressed out I ask myself "Is this life threatening?" The answer is always "NO" ~ just breathe and be happy to be breathing!

I asked a very successful man once what was most important to him. His answer: Peace of mind. \n\nThat made me think. If this was most important to him, should it be more important to me? As I got older I realized how right he was. So, how do you get peace of mind? That's a loaded question and there are a lot of answers. A step in the right direction is not doing things you know that compromise your peace of mind. Another thing is always doing your best. If you do, you won't wonder what could have been. Good luck.
