First I had never had a dental assistant do a filling or the prep for a crown and actually put the crown on and do the shaping before in my life. Was shocked! I asked at the time, what was her title, she said "dental assistant, do you have a problem with that?" What can I say, she had me on my back with tools in her hand! I also was expected to pay the full amount when my appointment was over from having a temporary crown. I just assumed being I was going to be waiting close to a month for the crown to be finished plus they would be receiving payment from my insurance company I didn't think it would be an issue. They were not going to send in my crown unless they received full payment. They informed me that was their policy was to collect full payment. I informed them that my policy was not to pay for a service unless it was complete. they was planning on not send my crown in to get built so I told them that if they were going to hold my crown hostage then I would make arrangements to get the thousand plus dollars transfered and get them paid. Currently the pain that I have with the temp crown I have never experienced before during this stage of this process, and I have had other crowns by another dentist. The pain is such that I can not put any pressure at all on the two temp crowns, plus the air that I breath if it is cool hits a nerve so this month of waiting is not pleasant. I also am new to this firestone dental office and being I have more work to be done beyond these two crowns and one filling I will move back to my former dentist in Loveland. Also for my vary first time for a cleaning they insisted that they do a extreme type cleaning...yes $$$ not sure as I have always been on a 6 month cleaning program and for them to say they needed to really do a deep cleaning and wow was that bill crazy. I should have known that when they suggest that old fillings get replaced and do crowns they are just after finding some sort of way to collect $$ I still would love to know if there is other dental offices that have the dental assistant do that level of work. I was informed by the office manager that they are trained to do that. When the dentist came back to review her work, he would what I would call touched up some things..and did say, "nice job", just like when a dentist comes in to review the work of a dental hygenist after a cleaning. . Overall... they have lost my faith and trust and when it comes to my teeth you only get one set!

The staff were friendly and courteous, but DID NOT inform me of charges or billing procedures before procedure was done, so I was shocked with a $699.90 bill at the end of my visit. They expected me to be able to pay that out of pocket with no advance warning. This was on my second visit - on the first visit they did not bill me until after they submitted to my insurance, so I thought the 2nd visit would be the same.
