I was a patient of Dr. Epstein for 18 years and have just moved out of state and need to find a new Dr. It's difficult as my experience with Dr. Epstein has always been positive. I was diagnosed with RA at the age of 24. Being in my 20's when first diagnosed, I always tried to avoid medication of any kind. I relocated to AZ in my early 30's Dr. Epstein has always listened to my concerns and has provided the best care. He changed up my meds when it appeared that they were no longer working. He put up with me going off my meds for months at a time out of stubbornness. At the age of 46 I had to have a total left hop replacement. He recommended the best surgeon for the procedure as well as my age. I would highly recommend him.

I was in the emergency room for all aver body pain, their follow up orders were to se Dr. Epstein the following day at 3:00. Based on blood work results. I called and talked to Jennifer, who told me that the were not contracted with my insurance co. In turn I contacted my insurance co. to find nearest Dr.,which was 80 miles away, she said because of circumstances they could do a waiver that would cover me at Epstein's office even though they were not in network, they gave me a phone number for his office to call for the approval. As I was giving this info to Jennifer she interrupted me and said she would not call for the waiver because she didn't have time to do it and it was her decision, and then said " do you want the appt or not , it will be out of pocket" which is $323 just for the office visit alone. It is very low to play god like this when someone is in pain. Playing god with treatment and my wallet. True scum! I hope this Jennifer gets a pay back someday on this one. My family Dr. Was flabbergasted by this girls arrogance and unwillingness to help a person in pain. Go elsewhere if you can.
