The services I received from Advances in Mental Health & Addictions Treatment Center over the last 2 years where excellent. The staff and therapists are very helpful, friendly and caring. The office staff ensured that I was properly informed about my insurance and the care I was going to receive.
Dr. Stephanoff was terrific. He is very knowledgeable, sensitive, and was informative about my case. I immediately felt at ease and confident in receiving expert medical care. I was very impressed with the overall experience from Dr. Stephanoff and his staff. I would HIGHLY recommend the Center's services.

Knowledgeable, professional and resourceful. Clinic is surrounded with a great team and the office staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend AABMH to parents, families and individuals.

My son and I have been through counseling and their IOP group teen programs. The programs are excellent and well planned. The counselors are very caring and they don't talk about personal issues in a non caring - I've heard this before attitude. They are happy to explain things to you numerous times to help you! They know telling someone once or a hundred times is sometimes needed to help because people don't retain everything you tell them anyway. I never feel stress to call or text the therapists in time of need. They are right there responding.

I understand why Dr. Stephanoff is sometimes taking a personal call but that's only happened once to us in 2 years! He got back to helping us and helped me get help from the local school district in Garden Grove. I didn't know getting services from the school would be so difficult until I met him and he helped me with staying persistent and let them know these problems are real for my son and not let them push him aside. I really like how caring he is and really an advocate for my son! It's made a huge difference for me and my son!

We feel validated finally! we feel like we are not crazy and it's not something you can "see"since it's internal and he understands that. Where at schools if you don't act sad they say your son isn't depressed, I saw your son smiling today with friends. Or other comments that made him feel bad for feeling the way he does. I would highly recommend Dr. Stepnoff!! He does testing before recommending treatment so that was huge for me. I don't want needless medications given to my son. Also his office is open to alternative methods as well.

This is the worst therapist i ever went to. I would leave feeling worse than i did going in. When i had my appt. His phone would ring, and would be taking personal calls, on my time, then had the nerve to bill my insurance, for an hour visit, in return when i was only there for 40 minutes. then i was thinking about helping children, he made the or the comment, that he wasn't going to read about me in the paper, or the news, that there was going to be anything to read about. why would a therapist say anything like that at all. needless to say i never went back

I am extremely satisfied with the care I have received from Dr. Stepanoff and his staff. Upon my first visit he listened and acknowledged all my questions and concerns. He has guided me through a solid plan of treatment and I continue to benefit from regular visits with him and his awesome staff. His office was easy to locate. I've already recommended him to others because of the huge positive impact his center has had in my life. He is by far one of the best psychologists I've ever seen. I was very impressed.
