Doris is a Christian counselor. She will not push her faith on you but will be glad to answer questions. She has never advocated for our divorce. She has always said decisions are ours and her job is to help us explore the options that are best for our family as we arrive at the direction we wish to head. She does not make our decisions. It was hard work, not easy fluffy feel good experiences all the way through, but the journey was well worth the effort put forth.

Christian Therapist she is not. She never mentions God at all. What kind of Christian therapist promotes divorce? Doris does. I thought Christianity promoted love and forgiveness and to walk like Jesus. She needs to remove the "Christian" portion of her marketing, she promotes none of the Christian values I was raised with. Never did I hear her talk about forgiveness, love or the Bible at any time, ever.

She trains you to hate your spouse and turn her into a monster, so by the time you're divorced, you hate marriage and your wife and need years of therapy.

Save your money and time and find anyone; a barber, a trainer, anyone or anything, even a bartender would be better and that's a last resort.

My view of her is just my opinion, you don't have to agree with it. She may have been a help to other people, but to me she's not. I'm not trying to be mean but i was stating my opinion about her.

Doris makes life's struggles more emotionally efficient. She supports you but calls you out when necessary. Therapy is work not feel good fluff. The most control we really have other anything is ourselves and how we think and approach life's challenges. Doris guide you to make the right decisions.

Counseling is supposed to make you feel better about yourself, not bad as crap about yourself. That's why I left her years ago. It was a great waste of time and money. With doris, especially. For what, just to regret coming here every frickin time. She was very critical and kept on trying to change me. So look doris, you need to work on being sensitive and supportive of your clients. You're a Christian counselor of all people, i shouldn't have to tell you how to do your job.

If you want to save your marriage, choose another counselor because Doris claims she is a christian marriage counselor, but she approves of divorce, which is against biblical philosophy with very few exceptions. My wife and I had made up and every time my wife went to an appointment, Doris looked for reasons to put a wedge in our relationship and to break us up, rather than encourage the relationship and help. Now here we are divorcing. Doris Riggs is an advocate for divorce, seek other help if you truly want to save your marriage.
