I have waited to place a review of this facility because I didn't think I would be able to give a fair review. I has been over 6 months and I think people have a right to know what they are getting into when they put their loved one in this facility. 1st of all DO NOT accept all the propaganda they give you to get you to come to the facility. I recommend you talk to the people who are living their for their opinion. They will tell you they can do all the things you want to hear. Response time when a patient calls, when in fact they are very understaffed and in my situation we have waited over and hour or more at times to get a CNA in to help. My loved one spent more time in isolation due to an infection he developed after he got there. He didn't receive the rehab he needed due to this infection and they just wasted all of his Medicare days then we were told he would have to leave because he would be running out of his days and it was better to put him in another facility before that happens because he was going to have to go on public aid due to lack of finances.
Bottom line it is ALL about money and not enough about kindness, proper care, and staffing.

I removed my mother from this facility AMA. They could not complete the necessary paperwork with a three day notice. The establishment never returned phone calls and moved my mother without my consent to the dementia unit. It was their policy to simply leave a message and they did not have to reach the guardian. This is what I was told when I questioned them on this. They do not return phone calls, they can not locate a thermometer, nor can they control the air condoning in the patients room. The blower was next to my mother and she complained about it, as I did. I was told that there was nothing that they could do. Unfortunately, it led to my mothers bout with pneumonia which went undiagnosed at Lexington but was diagnosed immediately at her current facility. I have waited for 14months to write this review because I did not want to write it with the raw emotion that I felt in late August of 2012. I will share that she is in a different facility that exceeds any expectations that I have ever had for a Medicaid approved facility. It may be a bit further west than Orland Park but well worth the extra 10 minute ride.

They have a very good professional reputation. I know that I'm under the care of an expert. I appreciated that they didn't have that typical elevator music on. I love that they are always more than happy to answer my questions, and actually welcome questions. The waiting room here is spacious. I never feel like I have to sit too close to someone or that it is overcrowded. The office staff always guided me to the correct person for assistance. The CNAs and Nurses were really good. Yes sometimes they were a little overloaded, but my needs were met.

We were very concerned about sending our mother to this rehab facility, however, since Medicare would not cover her at a more reputable place and she was unable to walk and needed therapy, we had to settle for a place her budget allowed. I voiced my concerns about other reviews posted to the administrative staff before we agreed to have her transferred there and she assured me they were under new management and that their CNA-patient ratio was well under what is acceptable by law in Illinois. To make a long story short, we had a very disappointing experience. Nursing and CNA staff for most part were kind, however very scarce. She waited and waited at times to get assistance to go to the bathroom, wasn't bathed or cleaned up on several days before noon and had to ask why, waited down in therapy for long periods before being brought back to her room, etc. There was lack of a communication between all of the team members and there were several days where my mother had no therapy even though I was told she would get it every day. Her clothes were also lost during a room transfer but found but overall, very careless. I met several people upon her arrival who all said to feel free to contact them if there were any concerns, however, sometimes took days to get emails and calls responded to. There was mass confusion on discharge day even though I had told several people for days I was bringing her home, no one had prepared and they initially said we'd have to sign her out AMA. Overall, don't send your love one here unless you are desperate and available to be an advocate for them or they will also have a similar bad experience.
