Saw her for over 6 months with many visits. She pushed her "diet" with tons of supplements she sells. I have Hashimoto's and she didn't test me for months. I never lost an ounce or felt better. She screamed at me when I came in for my final visit with some information I thought might her her help me. I guess I didn't fit into her patient profile and she screamed at me and told me I'd never get better. Now I am much better off all the things she had me taking. Found another reputable kind endocrinologist and would never recommend her to anyone!

I went to see Dr. Maya for about three years. Then she said that I would have to pay $200 upfront for visits. I struggle with the $45 co-pay. I really like her, but I don't think she caters to us poor folk.

Dr. Ochoa-Maya provides personalized and highly skilled care. She is unique in her ability to put you at ease and understand your symptoms and history in detail. Far from the cookie-cutter approach of many doctors, you feel that your case is being treated individually. I also felt that she truly cared about my long-term heath even after the acute condition was addressed. Her follow-up was thorough and thoughtful. Overall she proved to be an extremely intelligent and attentive doctor.

After seeing Dr Ochoa-Maya for 6 months I was informed she would no longer be taking any insurance . For me this was a problem. When I asked for a referral to another endocrinologist they told me to look in the phone book and find one myself. I had also had blood work done and to get the results they wanted me to come in and pay $200 for a 30 minute visit. Since I could not afford to do this they told me it was against the law to review blood work over the phone. In the meantime I am suffering with thyroid issues that now are going untreated until I can get in to see another doctor.. I felt she did not care at all for me as a patient.

Dr. Ochoa-Maya "consistently" displays qualities of one who has your utmost well-being in mind. She is one who is readily available in times of trauma and celebrates your healing: spirit, soul, and body. I am very appreciative of her accessibility after hours, and her willingness to pursue avenues of treatment that other doctors have shied away from. She is approachable, compassion, and kind. This doctor believes in educating her patients, and teaching them how to be active participants in their healing process. She has earned my praise and respect. Recently I have had a relapse of some of my symptoms after not experiencing any for seven months. Dr. Ochoa-Maya is always encouraging and looks on the bright side of things. I am thankful to have a doctor like her and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a qualified endocrinologist. She goes above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you, Dr. Ochoa-Maya
