Waited 3 months for an appt. Waited almost 2 hrs to be seen on my first appt. And he only went to the room introduced himself and send me a blood test and that was it. Why they don't ask for the blood work before the appt that way we don't waste time.

I needed a new rheumatologist after moving from Atlanta to Dallas. I had a long case history of nine years and a previous diagnosis of UCTD (although I fit the diagnostic criteria for lupus).

My labwork came back totally normal, so after one visit he said I had no rheumatic issues. However, he ignored my verbal and written case history of years of positive ANA and other markers. He had even called my recent photosensitive rash - which I showed him photos of - severe. He ignored my joint pain and said because there wasn't swelling at the time, there wasn't anything to treat.

In the two weeks since my appointment, I've developed a malar rash, mouth sores and worsening joint pain. I now have to find another rheumatologist who will actually listen to me and realize that sometimes your bloodwork comes back inexplicably normal in autoimmune illnesses, but that doesn't mean there is nothing wrong with you! In the meantime, I've suffering without treatment because I was not enough of a textbook case for him to treat me or believe there was anything wrong with me at all. If you're not a textbook case, I don't advise going to him for treatment.

I just love this doctor!!! 12 years ago, my fingers started locking in a closed position. I had several surgeries to "unlock" them. In addition, if I sat down for more then a few moments, my joints would stiffen and make it almost unbearable to move. Doctors treated my symptoms, but no one gave me a diagnosis until I saw Dr. Stern. He really listened to me, ran the labs based on my symptoms and diagnosed me with Rheumatoid Arthritis. With a good treatment plan from Dr. Stern, I feel great!

I have been a patient of Dr. Stern for 9 years. It took a year to get my RA under control but it has been smooth sailing since then. He listens and gives good feed back. He is detail oriented and is very clear about what you can and can not do when taking the medications he prescribes. I have enjoyed having him as my Dr.

Dr. Stern has been my rheumatologist for nearly a decade. He is attentive, helpful, and he LISTENS. Dr. Stern is a very astute clinician. He also seeks to educate his patients. I am not really sure how he does it, but appointments do not seem rushed, yet everything seems to run fairly close to on time. If I could give Dr. Stern 10 stars, I would. I love the fact that I can schedule appointments in either the Grapevine office or the Dallas office, depending onwhat my schedule is like that day.

This is only the second time I have visited Dr. Stern, although I had been a patient of Dr. Fleischmann for many years. Dr. Stern is very thorough and goes over all tests and blood work in detail. He is also very accommodating as far as schedules and appointments.

About 6 mo ago I switched doctors & started seeing Dr Stern. He has helped me more in 6 mo than my other Dr did in 15 years!! His staff is AMAZING, the nurses really care & Janet returns calls very promptly!! I'm so thankful to finally have a good doc!
