They answered most of my questions but I could have used more information. Their staff was not that friendly, and didn't go out of their way to make me feel welcome. He is always in a hurry, his work is hurried, he is trying to do more than he is able and is doing things best left to a board certified plastic surgeon, I am never going back to him again.

My father has had numerous appointments with Dr. Jochen and his staff. They are always very professional and efficient. The one gripe I have, and it seems to be a continuous problem, is their ability to maintain the set appointment scheduled in advance. We get a call from theoffice staff requesting that the appointment be rescheduled. This happens about 50% of the time. My father does not hear well and they will change the appointment supposedly with his agreement, which has caused problems with other scheduled medical appointments he has. One appointment which I remember distinctly, the staff had changed the appointment with my father, we arrived for the initially scheduled appointment only to be told that it had been changed. We drove a long ways to get there. I asked if we could please see Dr. Jochen. The staff told us that he had already left the building. When we went outside to return to our car, after being turned away, there was Dr. Jochen getting in his car. That does not make for a good relationship with any patient. It seems that their time is way more important than the retired folks who are old and don't have a life.

There definitely appears to be a trend of overbooking clients here. The wait has gotten longer and longer from when I first started seeing them. They put in the extra effort to make me feel valued and important. Everyone in my community knows that they are the absolute best in the field. They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. I am going to refer everyone I know here. I absolutely love this place.

The intakes are not done by Jochen or Nurse Practitioner. There are mistakes. I know this by seeing my records as I plan to return to my dermatologist in Los Angeles for some minor surgery. They listed no family history of skin cancer and I told them my brother has had continuing skin cancer and so has my cousin. The last time I saw Jochen, he was nearly an hour late. I saw quite elderly patients turned away and told to come back in two hours. Does this Jochen. have a phone? When you see the Jochen. --- the visits are very quick --- yet he is smiling and always has an assistant with him who puts in the information. The last time he was running nearly two hours behind so the examination must have been three minutes with two biopsies taken. The assistant takes the information as I said --- and in this case what I saw on my chart it was wrong. I think the place is a Botox mill. I asked the attendant if there were a lot of Botox patients and he just laughed. I did have a skin cancer treated using a medication. Jochen told me it was very expensive - $400. I said I had insurance which covered it and the cost was $750... I paid a $20 co-pay. Jochen does not make his own notes which could be a problem if the assistants are inexperienced or don't listen as the did with me.

I saw Elaine Woo-Gallagher, the nurse practitioner at Contour Dermatology and had the best experience in a doctor's office. Not only did i only wait a few minutes (she was very efficient), she spent a lot of time discussing my skin cancer, treatment options, and management of it. She was very patient and answered all my questions. I felt very comfortable with Elaine. Her knowledge in dermatology exceeds any doctor i have seen in the past. She has great bed-side manners and a wonderful personality! I would highly recommend seeing her. All my friends sees her as well!!!
