My daughter has seen Dr. Carey for the last 3 years. She has a complicated case. At first, he was eager to find the root cause of her condition. His interest has waned over the years. We finally decided to fire him last night after yet another pointless appointment. He is always late for every appointment. I'm not talking 30 minutes. I'm talking 2-4 hours late. You never know when he will show up. He asks the exact same questions at every appointment and is unable to recall what he did at your last appointment 6 weeks ago. He will also answer his cell phone every time it rings in the middle of your appointment. We have never seen him without any interruptions. I know he is important to the NICU/PICU he runs at a local hospital, but if he is too busy to focus on you during your appointment, then he should not see private patients. I actually think he is violating HIPPA because I have clearly heard the names, medical conditions, and treatment plans of his hospital patients during these phone calls. I would never recommend anyone waste their time and money on him. He loses interest and will jump to a conversion disorder diagnosis if he can't easily diagnose you. You are better off finding a doctor who will really listen and care about you.

I am very ill and am willing to wait because Dr. Carey is the only Dr. In Tulsa who understands my illnesses. He is overworked, true. But I spent one week in the hospital with one doctor with what they call walking pneumonia. He was a pulmonologist, and kept pumping me with steroids and making it clear he did not know how to cure interstitial pneumonia, which is what I have. A few weeks later, dr. Carey put me in St. John's where I spent 15 days. He teased the illness out with a skillful hand, and saved my life. I will never go anywhere else no matter how long the wait.

The longest waiting time I have ever experienced. It is just weird that they assign you a time to come yet they keep you waiting for at least 45 minutes! As if they don't care that people left their work, took time off, dragged their kids out of school or whatever.... The staff is totally unprofessional, and my opinion is not based on one visit: they sometimes letters of referral and appointments. The doctors are fine but I can't handle the negligence and the unprofessionalism of the office staff. If it was not a pain to transfer to another doctor and start from the beginning, i would not come to this clinic at all.

They were so kind and attentive to me. I didn't have to worry about them arguing with me, or contradicting what I had to say, which has been a problem for me at other places. This provider has very little helpful information available online, and what they do have is hard to find. They're always able to answer simple questions over the phone. They only make me schedule appointments if necessary. I am going to refer everyone I know here. I absolutely love this place. They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed.

Dr. Carey visited my child in the hospital. He was wonderful and attentive to my questions and concerns. We went to the office for our follow up appt and waited 2 hours before we even had a chance to see his PA. Once we saw her we thought we would be leaving (my son had not eaten or had a nap yet) We had to then wait to see Dr. Carrey. By the time he came in to see us my son had just wen to sleep. Instead of listening to his lungs while I was holding him and continuing to let him sleep he insisted I wake him up and lay him down. He listened to him for 1 minute and told me I could pick him up. In the course of our conversation he was dead set on a dx and that the RX were working even though my son was vommitting daily with the new RX's where he hadn't been having any problems previously. During the time we were in the exam room with Dr. Carrey he received a phone call and working in a physician's office I can understand that sometimes when you are waiting on a provider to call you back you just have to take the call. He was on the call in the room with us for 15 minutes setting up a breakfast date with an old friend. When he was finished with his phone conversation he did not even bother to appologize to us for being rude. At this time I was pretty much fed up and when we left to reschedule our follow up we waited at the check out window for approx 5 min before going out front to the check in area. Once there the front office staff started to help us and then started talking to a co-workers teenage daughter that was up there visiting. She spent 20 minutes doing this even with me asking if she could please make our follow up. Our next appt was not any better. I would not recommend this provider to anyone. In the hospital he was woderful but his clinical bedside manner and office staff leave much to be desired.

I have been with Dr. Carey for almost 20 years. Most of the staff knows who I am and I get the attention I need. I do not look forward to the day he decides to retire.
