I was practically cured from a life long skin diseases after I saw Dr Swan, I have since been taking my kids, and recommending him to my friends. I wonder what I would do when he grows old and is no longer able to practice.

Made a first-time appointment with Dr. Swan in which I believe I was asked about insurance over the phone and told them that my daughter was covered by my primary insurance, United Healthcare Choice Plus and Medicaid. Told that was fine. Waited two weeks for initial appointment. Went in and the front staff was rude saying that they could not see her at ALL as they don't accept Medicaid patients. What about seeing her with just her primary insurance, I asked? (Other doctors have done so) Told no that it was legally possible to do so. So they wouldn't see her at all.

I later called DMAS (Department of Medical Assistance Services for Virginia) and told that there WASN'T ANY LEGAL REASON they could see for Dr. Swan's office to refuse to see her other than if they have decided to not to accept any patients that have Medicaid as a secondary form of insurance (as any doctor can turn down patients of course but this was first for me as they've always taken her primary insurance!). In any case, I don't want to work with a doctor's office that treats first-time patients like this -- perhaps your experience may vary but I was enough concerned about this to write this review.

What I fail to understand is why they turned down seeing her when her primary form of insurance is a good one. Lastly, when we arrived, there really wasn't anywhere to sit down as the lobby is quite small and several other patients were still waiting.

I have visited Dr. Swan off and on for the past ten years or so. He is very competent and always takes special care to explain what my medical problem is and his treatment. His office staff is very helpful and friendly and takes care of scheduling my appointments quickly and efficiently. I am very pleased with the care I receive from Dr. Swan and his office staff.

I went to see Dr. Swan for a bad case of eczema. His office staff seemed very efficient and friendly and I only had a short wait. I was very satisfied with him and would recommend my friends and relatives to him without any hesitation.

Great doctor, speedy diagnosis and he has solved all my dermatological issues thus far. My only quip is the nasty receptionist at the front desk...I hear complaints about her all the time, and I usually agree with what I hear.
