The facility is very short staffed and my loved one is not given the care she should receive from the staff. Her nails are done once a month when they have it every week. I have to cut her fingernails and toenails. I have to comb her hair. Her skin is scaly and no moisturize is used when getting her ready for the day. I go different days and different hours so I can see if I am missing out on something and no I am not. They need to find a way to keep the help they have and the ability to hire the help they need. One person running a hall by themselves is not giving the clients the time necessary to take care of their needs.

My mother has been a resident here for almost 3 years. When she first moved there in the dementia unit they offered a wonderful activity director who did so much with the dementia patients, she really kept them active and spent quality tome with them. She left a a few months later and since then there has been no one to do anything with these elderly people. Some tog the workers there are some of the greatest anyone could ever wish to have looking after your parents but then there are those I have no idea why they are there! Ther ris absolutely nothing for the residents to do but sit and watch t.v! When we moved my mother there we were told that no one who became violent would be allowed to stay there, now there are two residents who are very violent and scary even to me. While visiting yesterday one of them attempted to come after me an aide did intercept her but it scared one of the other residents who asked me to "please don't leave me!" I do not understand why they allow resident to continue to live there who theatre he very safety of all the other residents, visitors and especially the workers! The workers full attention is then on those one or two residents who may hurt someone else and that takes away the time they could be tending to all of the other residents needs! Overall with the exception of our mothers clothes and pajamas disappearing for no reason as her family does all her laundry, I would say for he most part it has been an easy adjustment for what we are dealing with.
