I have been a patient of Dr. Spelman since 2008 and I am so grateful for her. Dr. Spelman is professional, intelligent, empathetic, and wise. When I first went to see her, I was suicidal, had 2 small children, a marriage that was on the rocks, and just lost my apartment. I could see no reason to go on. Little did I know what was really going on. She diagnosed me with Bipolar Disorder 1. Once she explained to me what that was all about, I realized that I had this my entire life and so many things now made sense that never made sense before. She admitted me immediately for care and we followed up outpatient. Dr. Spelman is a GENIUS about medications! She knows all the new (and old) meds, what they do, the side effects, how they work together, and anything else you want to know about them. She collaborates with you as the patient, working as a team on your plan of care. She is amazing and I recommend her highly to anyone who needs mental health treatment.

Dr. Spelman has seen me over the past several years and I continue to receive excellent care and advice. She is straight forward and very respectful no matter what the discussions are about. She has helped me immensely and given me confidence in myself.

I would highly recommend Dr. Spelman and her staff.
