I have been going to Dr. Kent for years now. They have always been very professional and the most friendly and courteous staff I have ever seen. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kent and the people at South Coast Family. All my friends and family also go there and we have never had a bad experience. Just a fantastic doctor and a great overall practice.
I was in the office on January 2013 and no one else was there and secretary asked me for my insurance card and I gave it to her and she made a copy and gave it back and after 15 minutes I asked her what was my co-pay. She said, "I will let you know once you are done." After visiting with the doctor, she told me that I was not covered as they accept only PPO while mine was HMO and when I told her why she did not tell me before, she stated, she thought I was PPO and later the office sent me the bill for the full amount and I went there to talk to the office manager, she told me; "you signed that you will pay if insurance does not pay" so you have to pay.....I live in Laguna Niguel and I sent this story to all my friends who live in this area. Also I sent the story to all my co-workers (650 employees) to make them aware of this office. I am so sorry for Dr. Kent who will lose his patients for his terrible staff. Dr Michael Kent for sure is a very good doctor, very friendly and very knowledgeable, but the staff is horrible, unfriendly, rude and unprofessional. They definitely need to be trained, otherwise they will lose their patients. I sent a letter to Dr. Kent about their staff's behavior and I am sure the letter was never received by him.
