I have been battling a kidney stone for over two months. Dr. Ching put me on Flomax to see if it would help it move out of my kidney. On a follow-up visit, the stone still had not moved. He ordered a CT Scan. In addition, he stated that he would remove it and put me on the surgery schedule. When I went back to him he decided that he would not remove the stone. He did not give me any reason except I would be in more pain. The next day, the pain became unbearable and I went to the ER. They were not able to do anything for me except refer me back to Dr. Ching. I made an appointment for him the next day. My parents went with me to be an extra set of ears. Dr. Ching was extremely rude and would not answer our questions. He said that there was no way the pain could be caused by the kidney stone. My father asked if the stone stayed in the kidney for too long, could it cause damage. Dr. Ching asked very sarcastically where my father was getting his sources. He also told my parents that he "sensed they were angry." Indeed they were. I am a full time student. I have a part time job. I am a newly wed. This kidney stone has cause a huge decrease in the quality of my life and my school/job has suffered. My father asked why Dr. Ching was ready to do the surgery just days before and then he suddenly changed his mind. Dr. Ching first said "I don't know." Then he left the office and did not come back.
