I was in crazy back pain for two weeks and was referred to Dr Rick Mentzer in Port Charlotte. Wasn't sure if his office was even open and when I called Dr Mentzer answered the phone! I explained to him what was going on and was at his office within 30 minutes. He was so understanding and took all of my recent MRI's and X-rays and he began treatment. I have suffered with back pain for the last 25 years and have only had 2 times that was just unbearable, hardly able to walk, sit, stand or anything. I have seen him for 3 visits and although not 100% yet but I'm no longer in agony and will continue with him. He personally is cleaning anything that is touched while at his office and during such a tough time he has been my superhero! I high recommend Dr Mentzer who is a true professional and caring man.

Dr. Mentzer has been a blessing for my pain and suffering needs. He is very professional and more important, personal and compassionate. He really cared about helping me and did everything he could to make me comfortable. He listened and tailored my therapy to improve my quality of life. I have seen many Chiropractors over the years, but he is by far the best not only at handling my physical pain but also emotionally he has been a wonderful person in my life. I highly recommend his services to anyone looking for this personal and professional care. Thank you Dr. Rick. and God bless you.

DR. Rick is by far the best Chiropractor that I have ever met. He works wonders. We come annually from Rhode Island and the first place we go is to see DR. Rick so he can work his wonders. When you leave his office you feel like a new person. Wetre in Florida for at least a month. Before we leave we go and see DR. Rick so we can have a pain free ride back home. Going to see DR. Rick is well worth the ride from Rhode Island.

When I moved to Florida in 2004, it took me a while to find a chiropractor that could take care of my back pain. Thank the Lord that I finally did. Dr. Mentzer is by far one of the best chiropractor's that ever existed. I now have no back pain to speak of. My sciatic pain is also gone. He is a very professional, caring, conscientious and talented human being. If you're in pain and want to try chiropractics, give him a try. You won't be sorry!

I've been seeing Dr. Mentzer on a regular basis since moving here in 2003. I have chronic spine issues that can't be fixed but can be maintained well enough so that I'm not in a lot of pain and Dr. Mentzer has been able to accomplish this better than any other chiropractor I've seen. I can't recommend him enough for his dedication to his patients, his skill, generosity and honesty. I would strongly encourage anyone reading these reviews to not be influenced in any way by the one negative review written by someone who is not of sound mind and who has accused this fine man of things I know for a fact he would never say or do.

BEWARE! Dr. Mentzer is the Worst Chiropractor I've Ever Seen!!! This guy is a liar, thief, and just a down right crook. He should not be doing chiropractic work.
I was in a car accident and I went to Dr. Mentzer for treatment of my injuries. I had my X-ray done and it showed that I had middle back slight dislocation, the lower back L5-S1 herniation and the coccyx (tailbone) was twisted to the left. However, Dr. Mentzer told me that I have multiple sclerosis developed from my childhood and he started to treat me. Two minutes of muscle relaxes electrodes and a minute of cracking my body (which does nothing, just let the gas out) The days when I came to his “treatment” would make me feel worse than before I saw him. Couple times I fainted home same day after the treatment and even worse that the last time I went there I fainted right in the car as I drove only two block away. He would always made jokes and stupid comments like are you sure you fainted, are you sure you have pain in here etc. Than, the worsen time came when I could not move for 5 days in the row, severe shooting pain and numbness of half of my body throughout few weeks as I was continuing seeing him. This is when I realized that there is something really wrong with me. As I came back to him, all he did is laugh at my problem and told me that maybe I felt somewhere meanwhile that is why I have problem with tailbone now (all this time he had my X-ray with the twisted coccyx) and again nothing was done accept that muscle relaxer treatment. The pain was not going away, so I went to see another chiropractor and what a surprise. I don’t have a sclerosis I have injury from my car accident that I had described above.
I was refered to Dr. Mentzer by some Christian…but there is no Cristianity in his actions if he takes advantages of people and exercise chiropractic abuse.
I am scared of those kind of people who playing with your health especially when you really need a help. Avoid this place and God bless you in finding the right one!

Very thorough and knowledgeable. Isn't like the others I have been to where they fix a section then want to see you every other day. He is awesome! I can't imagine going anywhere else.
