One day, 22 years ago, I was at work on a mid-morning break when I stood up and had pain in my lower back and difficulty walking. I hadn't lifted anything heavy that day and wasn't sure where this mystery pain was stemming from. I ended up at the emergency room before the day was over, where, after x-rays, I was told I had a collapsed disc in my lower back that would require surgery to fix. A co-worker recommended that I see Melissa Stephens before I submitted to something as drastic as surgery. I was 28 years old, could barely walk, and very fearful of surgery as I had a family member with whom surgery had only made him worse. I took my x-rays to Dr. Stephens and she had me ice my lower back and gave me some simple exercises to strengthen the my lower back muscles. I religiously did as she suggested and all these years later I not only haven't needed surgery but have lived a pain free and normal life. I'm now 52, work out regularly (very careful not to cause injury, i.e. lift properly etc.) and I'm so grateful to Dr. Stephens and the coworker that recommended her!

I've been going to Melissa Stephen's for over 15 yrs and she has been the same all of those years. Her staff, Sandra, is wonderful and very efficient.
I would recommend others to see her.

I never write reviews, but given that I am still suffering 4 months after my visit, I am compelled to do so. I went in for low back pain after having my second baby. After some time on the TENS unit, she began to work on me. In the process, she "accidentally" adjusted my neck and thoracic spine- areas that were previously fine. Her exact words were-"wow, I didn't think you'd adjust that easily". I went home that evening and for the next 2 days had terrible back pain and a headache. I have also since had TMJ on the left that I've never had before, an instability in my neck that was not there before, and excruciating pain in my thoracic spine that was not there before. Thank you very much for that. I was greeted rudely by the receptionist for parking in front of the house, and almost left right then. I wish I would have.

Terribly rude.

I simply called to have a conversation about scheduling an appointment. This office was listed on United Healthcare as an in Network provider.

The Office Manager took my call and was the rudest person I have dealt with in a LONG time. She, asked me about 5 questions in 12 seconds and did not let me answer anything. She ended with " I'm not supposed to even take new patients this week so good luck." and then hung up the phone !!!!!!!

I'm still shocked. Life is to short to deal with rude miserable people.
