Kay and Rod are amazing people. When I started working with them, I was in a dark and extremely difficult stage of life. They have done so much to give me the therapy, skills, and neurofeedback treatment I desperately needed. I live seven hours away, and they made extra time, even working weekends when I would come for treatment. They are thorough throughout the process, from the initial evaluation to the end. Kay and Rod are good about returning emails regarding follow-up questions and staying in contact. These wonderful people and the services they provide are life-changing and have dramatically improved the trajectory of my life.

My husband and I took her class on Power Struggles about 25 years ago. It was the best investment we could have made for our family. Each of our children thanked us once they went away to college and met others who were simply not equipped to move away from home. They are nearly 32 and 34 and still playfully call Before or After dinner chores when we are together.

Partway through the class I realized I was still in a power struggle with MY mother - through a year of counseling, biofeedback and EMDR, I released the emotional angst and my relationship with my mother improved dramatically.

MY REVIEW:
I am writing this to share my experiences with Dr. Kay Sheehan, whom I have known since the mid 1970’s. She possesses a sterling character, high work ethics, fine and extensive graduate educational background and all this backed up by a loving and generous heart. These are not qualities which are commonly found together in psychology or related professional circles.

I am an MD psychiatrist with nearly 50 years of private practice in Denver and Boulder, opened the first private clinic in the USA for biofeedback, first presented the field to the American Psychiatric Assn, taught extensively in the USA and in Europe, published fully in my fields, etc.

I have worked near Dr. Sheehan for years, treated patients medically she has seen, and have consistently been impressed with her competence and kindness. She is scrupulously honest and thoroughly professional in her dealings with her clientele and her office is tasteful and neat.

Anyone who comes to a markedly different conclusion is operating on the basis of some unrelated childhood trauma – or a motive far worse. Her colleagues would agree with this assessment.

Yours sincerely,
Charles Adler, MD, FAPA

We were referred to Dr. Kay Sheehan's office by another therapist. Our son
was having big melt downs anytime he didn't get his way, was doing poorly in school in terms of his grades and behavior and he had no friends. Our family was in turmoil because of his behavior. Dr. Sheehan said we were in a severe power struggle with him, and after assessments, determined he was ADHD, OCD and had learning weaknesses. She worked with us, his parents, to resolve the power struggle and my son was in neurofeedback training with her colleague. As we implemented the homework Dr. Sheehan gave us, the family dynamics and dynamics between my wife and I began to change much faster than we expected. Our family is now less stressed, we are no longer angry everyday, my wife and I are on the same page, and we are actually glad to come home. Our son is no longer ADHD nor OCD, his grades and behavior have significantly improved, and he now has friends. His teachers are much happier also. My wife and I have found that what we learned from Kay is also helpful in business relationships. John S.

Dr. Sheehan is an excellent psychotherapist. She was very helpful to me and my family. She answered all my questions and is very perceptive and understanding. I recommend her to my friends and family who have sought her help for a variety of problems, including their children and teenagers, and they are very pleased with the results as well.

I have seen many therapists over the years and periodically had been on medication. When I saw Dr. Sheehan, she was able to pick up on a traumatic brain injury I had gotten long ago which everyone else had missed. She was able to help me when no one else had. I can't thank her enough.

Dr. Sheehan is excellent and helped me and my family when the other therapists we went to did not. I wrote some nasty things about her on this website when I was really mad at her because I couldn't manipulate her as I had the other therapists and she helped my parents so I could no longer manipulate them either. I had been in therapy for three years with someone else and got no where before my parents went to see Dr. Sheehan. Thanks to her I am doing really well and have been for some time now and my parents and I are closer than we have ever been.

I regret having written the nasty things I did when I was so angry, but the website won't let me delete them so I'm doing the next best thing.

I recommend Dr. Sheeehan to everyone and I thank her for all of her help.
