I work in the mental health field myself so I have a pretty good idea what a professional provider should look and feel like and Ms. Lansgston exceeded my expectations. Ms. Langston is a very knowledgeable, empathetic, caring and non-judgmental provider who made me feel welcomed and was able to build a good rapport with me very quickly. I would definitely recommend this provider to everyone, including my own family members. However, she can only help those who want to be helped and are willing to work hard on themselves. Someone special once told me that a good therapist is like and GPS that will show clients the way solve their own problems. However, clients are the means of transportation. So if you are not willing to drive or walk you are not ready for counselin and ultimately get better.
I have decided to provide my feedback in response to the negative comment someone left previously - about being charged for session which has been cancelled by the client.
I Quote “I called a good hour before this appointment time - plenty of time for Mrs. Langston to get another client to take my place.” Actually that is not a sufficient time to get another client in. Counselor’s office is not like a hair salon with people constantly walking in. Good counselors actually get ready for their clients in an advance to provide quality sessions and clients are not on “stand-by.” Whoever left this negative comment, based on an unrealistic expectation about mental health services, would benefit from an attitude change and accepting that world does not revolve around us and does not always play by our rules. Just saying:)
