frighteningly bad. She is manipulative, disrespectful, and kept telling me she was the only person who could help me. I am so sorry I went to see her.

Completely UNPROFESSIONAL and UNETHICAL! Jan Beauregard lacks empathy and takes advantage of her clients' vulnerabilities. She broke my confidentiality after I stopped seeing her as my therapist. She violated HIPAA/my right to patient privacy and spoke with my marriage counselor AFTER I severed our professional/working relationship. After working with her for almost 5 months, all I ever received from our $185 hourly sessions was condescending remarks and unwelcomed judgments. Do not let her credentials fool you - she is dangerous, careless and blatantly dismissive of patient rights/privacy.

Please don't go see this therapist. I went, disliked her intently, and walked out. She called me later and explained that she was the only person who had her "expertise" and asked me to try again. I was impressed by her candor, but in retrospect, what a thoroughly unprofessional, manipulative move. I did see her for about 5 months, I never developed any kind of trusting relationship and I kept going back because of her insistence that she could help more than anyone else, and that I needed her.
Huh?
Anyone who has to use that kind of rhetoric has serious issues. I've since found warm, competent, compassionate therapists who were able to help me a great deal. It actually took me quite some time to find another therapist because I was so wary , and what a shame and waste of time and $. My only lesson from Jan was to listen to my gut.
