My husband was taken to the emergency room on Aug. 22nd and Aug 26th for dehydration. He had a seizure on Sunday August 21st. The oncologist, Dr Induru had requested he have an MRI. We sat in the waiting emergency room for 5 hours and all they did was take his temperature and blood pressure. The man was very upset and did not feel like sitting there any longer so we came home. Had an ambulance take him to the hospital on Aug 25th. The medics started a line on him for his upset stomach. They told me to give them 20 minutes to get him there and registered in. When I got there they had left him in a wheelchair, sitting in the emergency room. He was so weak he could hardly hold his head up. We sit there, and sit there, then finally a Dr Patrick Lam came in to talk to us. Told us there was not an empty bed in the hospital, and may not be one available the next day. He wanted my husband to sit in that wheel chair thru the night until next morning. I told him he wasn't able to sit there all night. He was too weak. I told him Dr Induru wanted him to have an MRI on his brain. He said he could order one, but it would be the next day also. We left and came back home. Did not hear a word from his oncologist the entire week. His nurse Christine spoke to me a couple of times. She is the one who suggested an ambulance. So upset with the whole deal!

Great Nurses,Rn,ect.. that take care of you.
Very friendly happy providers.
only bad thing, need to keep brushes for people with long hair, better ways to wash their hair like dry shampoo, deodorant.
Had I known i would be there I would have carried those things with me.
But other than that great care, Loving providers, they are very caring about you and your needs.
Bless them and what they do.

Atrium Healthcare Systems attempts to care for patients. Most of the nurse practitioners and nurses are very good. They are kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. However, the management does not care about individuals. They only care about the money. It is obvious in how they treat their nurses and how they care more about appearances than actual patient care. Please try to remember that it is not about the money!

Wish I could give it less than 1 star. My 93 year old mother with Alzheimers was in the ER last might. Spent 6 hours sitting in a wheelchair because they didn't have a room or even gurney for her to lay down. No communication from staff as to when a doctor could see her or when test results would be in in. Support staff and nurses were wonderful, but their method of moving patients through the process is HORRENDOUS. Never, Never, NEVER will I or any of my family go to this ER again. I would rather drive to an ER further away and get in/out faster. Start to finish, took us 9 hours to get out of there. Seriously, I'm from this North .... is this how all ERs in the South operate???

After visiting the ER, I have been fighting the billing dept for 12 months because they didn't code the paper work correctly. 12 months and the bill is $2000 higher than if it were coded correctly. 12 months of back and forth. This is beyond ridiculous! The dozens of phone calls and letters, oh the stories I could tell you! I was sent to the ER by my PCP and it was billed as a non er visit! STAY away from this hospital. Somebody needs to do their job, but what do they care, it's not their credit score that's going to be hurt!!!
