My dad has been at this hospital for over a week now, and his level of care provided by staff (Not Doctors) needs serious intervention. Dad was left for 3-days laying in his bed with fecal matter. I only witnessed this after I lifted him. Additionally a huge puddle of urine was left unattended on the floor next to his beside. Dad utilizes a urine bag due to bladder removal 16 years ago; apparently the urine hose must have come lose hence spilling on the floor. Once I complained and requested assistance I was temporarily ignored until other medical professionals complained about the odor and this is when maintenance staff arrived to expeditiously clean dad's bed, remove his clothes, and disinfect the room.

I addressed the medical technician and voiced my concerns and disappointment and was not received well. The medical tech became defensive and irrational and offered absolutely no resolution to my issues and rudely walked away. I agree my tone was probably a little over the top but this was after a few days of silence. Thereafter each time she is on duty she just walks pass me and totally ignores my presence (TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL) I know that there are definately two sides to every story-this is true-but you may want to speak to her colleagues in confidence to get an overall picture of her conduct. Lastly, should the IV machine begin to "beep", and she is alerted-she will show up 20-30 minutes later. I stated this fact to her and she immediately became defensive once again in front of another patience and aide. Additionally, I asked whether the social worker person assisting with prescription approval had an update and she told me that she did not know. I asked whether she could find out and she looked at me a bit annoyed with my request. Eventually her response to me was IF YOU WANT INFORMATION QUICKER THAN YOU SHOULD CALL MEDICAID YOURSELF. First of all she was out of line with that remark and secondly my dad is not on Medicaid, he has two healthcare insurances. Again, the doctors have been great with their services, constant communication with the family, however this technician needs on-going training on bed-side manners and treating each patience with the dignity and respect they all deserve. I am not certain but I do believe the Supervisor was notified of this behavior taking place on the 8th floor (Mobile station 8th floor between rooms 806-809). Again the doctors, and nurse Kenisha have been great-they should be told and commended. Take care.

Waiting rooms were dingy and dirty, elevators were broken, and security laughed at me when I called from the stopped elevator, telling me it happened all the time. These were all signs that I should have had my mother transferred ASAP, but, unfortunately, I didn't. After being told over the weekend that she would not be having her procedure until at least Tues., I received a message on that Monday from a doctor to call. I called back and talked to another doctor, who only told me that she was fine and the cardiologist was deciding which procedure to do. I went to visit her later that day, only to find that they had already done the procedure and she passed away during it. NEVER did anyone indicate that it would be done that day, and my mother died there without her daughters who would have been there if we had known. I am recommending that no one ever go to this pathetic excuse for a hospital.
