I came to curves using a keep it local card i purchased . The card said free month membership for you and a friend so I invited my mom to join me. We went and started and they seemed not to friendly about us using them. It stated on the card membership so i would think that means you are joined with curves for the month. When we started they said they had a weight loss contest going on and we could be a part of this contest and this was told to us on the phone before we came in to start for the first time and it was stated they were giving prizes away to the winners.We were both weighed and measured for this contest before we started. This was my first experience at a Curves and I did like some things about it.I did my very best for the month I went I lost a total of 15 pounds and a total of 25 inches off my measurements . I also lost 3.1% body fat and lost-10#of body fat.I I won and was told today that I did a good job but unfortunately I m not to get a prize because I'm not a member and there are other people that have been coming for years and it wouldnt be fair to them. Nothing was said up front about this . I feel decieved and cheated . It shouldnt make a difference if you are there for a month or ten years if you win you win. These people that worked in the Effingham Curves were very rude to us . When I purchased these cards they send two cards to use .Keep in mind they are not free you have to pay for them to use them. They were at first not going to let us use the other card and when we had talked to them about other effingham keep it local cards we used in the past like the zone and that they honored them because you do pay to get them. they had the nerve to to tell my mom we were going around town taking advantage of exercise places . I am still very mad about this comment to us Its one thing to take advatage I know but I paid good money for these cards to use them. They said we could go ahead and come back and use these .I have no use for going back after having someone say something like that to us and also getting cheated out of winning a prize I worked hard for and deserved.When I first started I recomended this place to a friend I think I made a mistake.
