My cats have been patients of Dr. Campanile for many years, but this review is about his associate, Dr. Fish. I just came back from having to put my cat to sleep at the pet ER after treatment by Dr. Fish. I took her in because she was suddenly growling in pain. She has a history of severe constipation, which I was unforuntate to mention to Fish, because then he barely examined her . He roughly palpated her abdomen, said he felt stool, took an Xray and said she was staying overnight. He didn’t do any other tests on her. I called the next day to ask how she was and the receptionist said “fine, come pick her up”. There was no indication that anything was wrong. I was happy that she would be coming home and would be well again. Fish didn’t even acknowledge me even though he was near the front desk talking to another client. The tech, Frankie, brought her out and I asked how she was. He told me fine and that she moved her bowels. He ordered some prescription food for her and I was on my way. The rest of the she was lethargic, but I though she was exhausted or sore from the procedure, or that she was sedated and that was wearing off. When she wasn’t better the next morning, I called them as soon as they opened, and they said bring her in. When I heard Fish was there, I didn’t want him touching her again so instead I went to the animal ER on the same block. I heard them call my vet for her records and nobody responded to them. It turns out it looks like she had aspiration pneumonia. They tried everything, but even with oxygen she couldn’t breathe and I had to put her to sleep. How does a cat go from being “fine” one day and dead the next morning”? Fish should be fired and never touch another animal. I think they are the BEST- They connect with the animals, put them at ease, and try there best if there is a problem fix it. I have also boarded my cat with them.

We have been going to Dr.Campanile for 19 years and we moved from Brooklyn 18 years ago.
We have had three Dobermans over the years and would never think of going anywhere else.
The best care as far as we are concerned.
Dr.John, Frank and the staff are like family.

I have 2 adult cats. Both had shots and nails clipped. Dr Campanile and all the associates work well together. The associate really talked to my pets to calm me. Glad I switched to your establishment.

A while ago I went to Dr. Campanile with my cat, who lost her appetite and refused to eat at the time. Prior to this she appeared healthy so this was very strange behavior for her. Dr. Campanile examined her, took x-ray and blood test and send us home with medication to increase her appetite, saying she was perfectly fine. Medication for appetite didn't work, my poor cat refused to eat or drink and appeared to be in pain.I attempted calling the doctor, left messages, but he never returned my calls. I brought my cat to another Veterinarian, he promptly diagnosed her with Lung Cancer and put her to sleep. He was appalled that Dr. Campanile did no pick up all the signs, took insufficient x-ray, from which it would have been impossible to see if there was anything truly wrong with her internal organs.
I personally blame Dr. Campanile with putting my cat through tremendous pain and suffering, when all could been avoided.
