Front office staff is very rude. Seem unconcerned for your pet's welfare during a stressful time, and only concerned about HOW you will pay UP FRONT before you even see a vet. Once you see the vet, you are given a list of tests and treatments that are overly priced and most are not necessary. [ex: Benedryl = $40] Forget about asking questions, because the vet will talk over you very loudly and cut you off. You will leave feeling more confused than when you arrived.

The rating does not pertain to the staff. They definitely get five stars. The entire staff was wonderful. They understand how distressing a sick or injured pet is for the pet owner. They helped me get through the situation.

There is only one problem I found and it's a big one. Even if your pet is extremely ill, you still have to pick it up before 7:30 am and take them to your vet or somewhere else, Then if your vet closes down at night, you have to pick them up from there in the evening and take them back to the emergency clinic. It's a nightmare.

Terrible place. The dr. said cat had an injury to the spine. Turns out it was kidney failure.

They weren't very understanding or caring, and they didn't show empathy for my situation. I could tell I wasn't their primary concern. The staff must have not been trained very well. Almost every time I would ask them a question no one would know the answer. Their office appears more concerned about money and I don't think their top concern is to help animals.

My 11 year old dog had a seizure for the first time ever in June 2013. I brought him here because it happened on the weekend. While the attending vet, and his overnight caretakers, seemed to be very competent and some of the attending staff were sympathetic and allowed my family to visit, the staff who greet you when you first come in cannot possibly be worse. Most seem utterly unconcerned that you have brought a needy pet into their place. The first time I brought my dog in, he had a seizure in the waiting room (no one was in there when we walked in).
About two weeks later, I unfortunately had to bring my dog here because he two major seizures within 30 minutes. I called ahead to let them know I was coming in with him. When I walked in with him, there was no one waiting in the waiting room, yet we waited a full 25 minutes before even being seen (and this was after I virtually demanded getting him seen with the staff member who was at the front). This particular front staff person during these 25 minutes was seemingly not cognizant or concerned of my dear dog's needs.. Unfortunately he had another seizure before being treated at the second visit as well. There is just a huge disconnect between the vet and vet techs, which seem to be caring and competent for the most part, versus the front office staff which can be as callous as they come. It's a shame that this clinic is the only emergency clinic in town.

I brought my cat in on 3/12/13 because she had a seziure they ran her blood work and told me that she was dehydrated and wanted to keep her over night for at least $100 more than the $330.00 I already owed. I said no and took her home. My regular vet saw her on 3/15/13 and told me she was not dehydrated and that she had to rerun her blood work because it didn't make sense and saw that the Animal Emergency Clinic had ran my cats blood work as a dog. I called the clinic and ask for a refund only on the blood work $139.00 since they made a mistake. The clinic told me that the blood work wasn't much different and so they wouldn't refund me and that I could bring my cat back in to rerun her blood. I said no thanks that I would not stress my cat back out because they had made a mistake. I left several messages for the owner Dr. Welch and finally spoke with him on 3/18/13. He said that he called the blood machine company and they apparently said the test results wouldn't be much different between the species. I told him I found this odd since my regular vet thought the results were weird and had to reran them. She found an infection in her liver than the canine results did not show and also my cat wasn't dehydrated. Glad I didn't leave her over night to stress her even more. He told me that he would call my vet and if she said that the results were different he would refund me my $. Weeks later I have never heard from anyone from the emergency clinic.
I feel that I was lied to and treated like I don't have a brain. Two different species here. I would not let my doctor run my blood as a chimpanzee and diagnose me with something even though science says our DNA is 96% the same. I do not feel like I would go back to them so i pray my cats never get sick after my vets regular hours.
