I was briefly greeted by the secretary and she acted as though it was an inconvenience to help me. The office staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. I called to make an appointment and they told me they take walk ins only however when I was in the waiting room another person came in and said she had an appointment and they got her right in. While my daughter and I were in the waiting room another guy walked in to see the Dr said he didn't have insurance and the receptionist became extremely rude to him she informed him it would be 200 plus dollars to see him and he said he just moved here could they work with him because the pharmacy wouldn't refill his medicine without a local prescription, she said no he could go to the City clinic on 14th street he said ok can you give me that information and instead of getting the phone book and looking she said no it's on 14th that's all I can tell you. Then once the gentle man left she turned to the other lady working in the office and said what do we look like a free clinic! No we won't bill you. I was shocked and disgusted. I was going to make him our families primary physician but I can't stand his front office staff. They are always rude so we only go there if we can't get into our regular Dr and it is sad because Dr Mattern himself is an amazing friendly helpful guy but his front office staff really are unprofessional and rude.
