Doc Townson in Hedgesville WV is a fantastic Vet, I and my family have been taking advantage of his Vet knowledge for 30 years. He is professional, compassionate. And is very very trustworthy. And takes care of farm animals to domesticated home creatures. You won't find a better Vet than Doc Townson. Bravo Doc.

It's AWESOME to bring my babies to a veterinarian who adores them as much as I do!! My dogs even wag their tails when we get there because they love Doc Townsend as much as I do!! His staff is just as nice and the best part of any visit there....no one talks at you with big medical terms...they try to talk to you so you can truly understand what it is that either needs to be done for your pet or is going on....it's so nice and refreshing to be able to say that about a veterinarian and his staff today!! BTW, I have 3 Great Pyrenees, Sampson, a very shy 5 yr old, Gunnar who's currently a Therapy Dog and Ryder, who is now 8 months old...we're working on getting him to become a therapy dog as well...you always tease them, saying I don't love them enough, because you say they are so well taken care of..... Thank you Doc Townsend so glad I found you when I moved....You're the best!!! PS You can't retire ANYTIME soon, got it???

Great country vet. The hilly and winding roads to get there don't sit well with my kitty. He has never been ill while in the car before but has been ill both times we have taken him there. We are seen quickly and the cost is exceptionally reasonable. It us hard to reach them and hard to get a call back when a message is left. I've been trying to order prescription items that need his approval. They've been called three times by the company and no call back yet in 6 days.

Sept 2, 2016 my precious black lab, Traveller, had to be euthanized. I wanted it done at my home and my vet "didn't have time" I was also told by them to bring my dog to the office, they were open till 6p. I called Dr. Townsend, he didn't tell me he did not have time or it was a holiday weekend. He even offered to come by that day and reschedule some of his other appointments. We agreed on the next day. He was so kind, compassionate and gentle with my precious dog. He explained everything he was going to do. He was not my Vet at the time, but he will be when I get another dog.

Our 25+ dear family horse may be old but he still has a lot of spunk in him and after he started showing symptoms that weren't normal, I called Dr. Townsend. He picked up on the 1st or 2nd ring and was out of town at the time. When I explained the symptoms to him, he knew right away what it was and suggested that I get him to Valley Equine in Ranson, WV. Turns out he had blockage in his esophagus from feed. After it was dislodged, he was his old self again. We were ready to put him down if necessary due to his age, but with Dr. Townsend's knowledge, it saved him and he is out grazing in the field with his buddies kicking up his heels again. Thank you Dr. Townsend, you are the best!!

I was in awe at the level of service I received. They completely surpassed all my expectations and I will absolutely be going back. They were one of the kindest, most caring staff I've ever dealt with. It didn't matter how many times I called with a question or concern, they were always happy to help me. One thing I did enjoy was the waiting room chairs. They were comfortable and I didn't mind waiting in them for the appointment. The examining rooms at their office were clean and free of odor. I can tell they really strive to keep their office looking and smelling nice. They always dress so professionally here, the entire staff obviously makes an effort to look their best and maintain a very professional appearance.
