I was overall disappointed, I was new to town and looking for a compassionate reasonable vet. My dog had hurt her eye, the vet really didn't give me any treatment options, just said we would need to run numerous tests on her eye, it would have been around $300-$400. I insisted on just getting the antibacterial eyedrops, she healed up just fine. That visit with the drops was still over $100. They did call to follow up on her condition which was thoughtful.

It was easy to get the appointment time that worked for my schedule. Their staff was friendly enough, but they didn't go out of their way to help me. I take my pet here. I think their care is really minimal anymore. They used to be one of the best. After they refused to come in when my dog was attacked and this ended up in the loss of my beloved pet over a day off. I am now sure animals are NOT number one to them. They are only good for routine shots and checkups. Nothing more.

While I was at the vet to have my cat treated for an ear infection someone came in that brought a cat that had been hit by a vehicle. It was not their cat but it was in such pain that it obviously needed medical care or to be euthanized. The clinic would not do anything until the person paid $71.50 and that was to get it euthanized and I assume dispose of it. So someone with a warm heart had to dish out that kind of money to get a cat euthanized, I just thought it was a ridiculous amount of money just to kill the cat.

This veterinarian was not very friendly once she had started to be questioned about the spaying procedure she had performed on a healthy 2 year old family pet. That didn't sit well with me. The pet was bleeding out 12 hours post-operation. The dog temp at the time was 102 and blood work appeared to be normal but the pet continued to decline. A copy of the chart was requested. What was provided was a computer generated basic history of the pet and bill for what had been done. Nothing indicating the procedure it self and what had been performed. No copy of consent or operative note. No signatures or progress notes. Concern was about an oral pain med to be administered at home after surgery, given in a facility package without any liturature or handouts. When questioned about what had been given at the facility prior to discharge, the vet claimed no oral med had been given. They gave no information at all. I was an observer to the situation, horrified that this vet would treat any pet owner in this way. They ignored concerns about the pain med and requests of the hard/handwritten notes of the chart stating it was their property. The other vet was attempting to give reassurance about the safety of the pain med and wide use within their client base. Again, the dog continued to decline. How can any vet be so negligent, the actions in that office, including the girl at the desk claiming the computer print out was all they were "required" to give, gives the impression that there was something to hide; there was never an offer to at least review the chart and get reassurance that the procedure had gone as planned. I felt awful for the pet owner. The pet owner was in clear distress, tear streaked face, absolute concern that her dog may die as a result of the care from this vet and clinic. The pet owner fumbled for her credit card as there was a required full payment for services rendered, and left with two bottles of medicine and again, no literature or handouts. I could not help but feel for this pet owner and pursued more information. The pet owner said the dog went in for spaying the day before via laser, they rushed for signatures as they wanted this dog to be the "first" one of the day, the procedure apparently started two hours after the owner had left the dog and when the dog was retrieved (later that day) the procedure ended up being an "open" one with a lot of stitches. The dog is currently at a second vet undergoing emergency treatment, within the hour the dog had declined so badly when it walked it was leaking bloody water from its rectum. The new vet is unsure the dog will survive. By nightfall (4 hours later) the dog was receiving its fourth bag of fluid and running a 104.7 temp and continuing to loose blood. The pet owner and her child are stunned, the common procedure they trusted Flat Creek vet to had turned into a nightmare. They could provide the new vet with little information as there was no documentation to go on. When comparing them to others in their field, I would say this vet at Flat Creek is by far the worst I have ever seen. I will never go to them and if anyone asks my experience I will be happy to share my observation. They are a disgrace to their profession and should be ashamed. If this was a child....oh my goodness I cannot even fathom the legal ramifications. Any vet you go to, find out what their policy is on supplying chart copies. I fully intend on supplying this pet owner with a statement of my observation if the pet perishes and am keeping in close contact even offering monetary support through this obviously painful process.
