I've been there once during my visit to San Diego and I must say that my experience with Mrs.Lee Yan (hope I spelled that right) was wonderful. Even though I had an appointment for a haircut only, I had to highlight my hair too after all the confidence I saw in her, doing her job. Some of the nice things that made this experience unforgettable are as follows.
First, she's honest. She clearly explained me why a very short hair cut won't work for me based on my hair type and face shape. I've always hated a stylist who just does what you ask her to do without giving her advice when she thinks that things will turn out bad.
Second, as I mentioned even though my appointment was for cut only, when I asked her for a highlight, she was super sweet and made her best to finish quickly yet still maintaining her proficiency to have my hair colored.
Third, it was easy to set an appointment. She gave me her cellphone number in case I wanted to change time or cancel (I love flexibility).
Finally, it was my daughter's turn for a haircut which turned out amazing. By the way, both haircuts styles were Leeyan suggestions. She explained me everything before cutting a single hair. I loved it and wish that you were here in SB. For the whole 2.5 hours were talked about everything that time just flew by. Oh! I almost forgot, the pricing compared to other salon's I've been to in Santa Barbara, is soooo reasonable (shown in their website).
