I have had the pleasure of being a client at Hairy Kari's for several years now. I have always had LaDonna cut my hair and the full foil weaves I get have always been done by a stylist LaDonna chooses for me. My hair is to my waist so I do have issues of trust re: who can do it right. In all the years I've been a client I've NEVER had a problem with any of the services I've had done. It's a great feeling being able to sit in the chair and say "ok, you know what's best, so surprise me"!! I'm in my early 60's and it's wonderful to walk out of there feeling beautiful and even a bit younger thanks to the awesome staff at Hairy Kari's. If you need a great salon, try these guys, you won't want to go anywhere else! They totally ROCK!!

Every time I come here they always remember me by name and greet me as soon as I walk in the door, even if it's been months since my last appointment. They are so thoughtful and amazingly sweet, I just love this place. Their office was nice and quiet. I was worried it would be overly loud but it was fine. They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. Jackie

I went to Hairy Kari's to get a spiral perm. Thought the hair dresser and I were reached an understanding about what I wanted, a spiral perm that was not a very tight corkscrew because my hair curls easily. She gave me a perm which seemed a little loose when I left, but I thought I should give it a little time before jumping to conclusions. I followed the hairdresser's instructions to the letter: i.e. waiting 3 days to wash, not using heat on my hair, not brushing or putting hair ties or clips in, using a hydrating shampoo and conditioner. My perm was great for the first 3 weeks. Then the very next time I washed it, the perm was nearly straight from my roots to 5 inches down. I again thought it was the product I was using, but it wasn't. The perm continued to get straighter in some areas, but stayed perm-like in others. I finally called 4 and a half weeks after the perm and asked to speak to the owner. I was told she was on vacation until the following week and she would call me then. I received no call the following week so I called again and again left my name and number. Again, I received no return call. I called again, and asked when the owner would be in, and was told the time she would arrive. I made sure I would not be interrupting any appointments she may have, and waited for her. Kari came out and was immediately rude to me, telling me she had already talked to her stylist Alyssa and that I received exactly the service I had requested and that perms like the one I asked for only last 2 months. Who would spend $100 and over 2 hours in pain for something that only lasts 2 months? Anything I said after that she rebutted with rudeness, and without actually calling me a liar, she implied that whatever her stylist said, no matter how contrary to what I said, would be believed, and I would not. She finally stepped closer to me and said if I had brought this to her attention weeks ago, perhaps they could have done something. But it was too late now. Kari said she wasn't going to argue with me and without another word, turned her back on me and walked away. Her receptionist wasn't much better. She snickered as Kari was rude to me, obviously bringing her some entertainment.
Considering what I went through, I would advise others to avoid doing business at Hairy Kari's. Kari clearly does not care about her customers and as long as the money is in her hands, she could care less about the quality of the services she offers. Kari offers no refunds and you'll have to do guesswork as to how much time you'll have to come back in for corrections. If its "too late" by Kari's standards, then you're out of luck. Kari's business practices do nothing to support the dignity or honor that is usually so important to a business owner. Her rudeness and confrontational attitude was so off-putting others should be aware that you're probably one dollar away from her bad side. Believe me, I think I saw the real Kari who owns Hairy Kari's, and despite being in the beauty business, it wasn't pretty.
