Spent a week there after total knee replacement surgery.

Even though they were in the middle of redoing the facility I found the room to be quite large and very clean.

Was surprised that there were no phones in the rooms and bringing a cell phone was a necessity. Also had to pay for TV service.

The only chair in my room was an old armless dinning room chair... they finally brought in an old dinning room chair with arms. Which when I had guests they even found it hard and uncomfortable to sit in, so I never sat in it.

I was admitted on a Saturday before noon, and even though they knew for a couple of days that I was coming they weren't prepared for me...
It took 5 hours for them to find me a walker and it was filthy, the grips were sticky and made my hands black.... and the physical therapist didn't arrive till early evening. She did make sure that even though the next day was Sunday she was there to start my therapy.

I found my Therapist and most of the staff (including housekeeping) to be very kind and helpful.

I was most upset by one of the "nurses" that dispensed pain medications...it was 5 days since my surgery and when, after 4 hours since my last dose of pain medications, I requested (as the Doctor prescribed) another dose, she told me that "You just had 10 mg of Oxycontin just 4 hours ago, don't you think 5mg is enough for now?" It was like she was telling me that if I took the 10 mg as prescribed I must be a drug addict! So, instead of doing what the Doctor told me to do to "stay ahead of the pain" I took the 5mg she offered.... well the pain got ahead of me! And it took days to "catch up" and I had to watch the clock and make sure I requested my drugs before the 4 hours, because they were usually short handed and sometimes it took 5 hours (+-) before I got my pain medicine!!! Not only that, because of the pain & swelling from not taking enough pain medication I couldn't do the physical therapy everyday, which is the reason I went there in the first place! So instead of staying the full two weeks I went home and got much better care!

One other thing, I am not a fussy eater and unfortunately because of my stay or a friend or family members stay, I have had and tasted many meals at several other hospitals, nursing homes, rehab facilitys up and down the coast. I understand serving under seasoned food, but the food there has to be the worst I have ever eaten! The first meal they offered me was fired stiff as a board fish, fried hush puppies, and some kind of unrecognizable fried veggie (yellow squash?) And come on... who puts pickle relish in pasta salad, ham salad and chicken salad sandwiches?

One last thing!
I received a bill for TV rental. Although the statement didn't say that, it just said "total amount due" I knew what it was for.
The statement date was 11/26/12 was mailed on 11/29/12 and I received it on 11/30/12. What is interesting is that at the bottom of the statement it says:
PAYMENT IS DUE BY DECEMBER 5, 2012
A $50 late fee will be added to accounts not paid timely
Today is Saturday December 1st, I just had major surgery can't drive yet, so it will be Monday the 3rd of December before I can get my check in the mail!
Does that mean if it doesn't get there before Wednesday the 5th they are going to charge me another $50? !!!! WHO DOES THAT?
$50 if they don't get it by They have got to be kidding!!!!

Hence the 1 star rating....
