If you are looking for institutional white and institutional impersonality, then Silver Pines is NOT the place. It old fashioned "feel," not just because the walls are painted colors, but because the staff -- nurses and nursing aides -- KNOW their clients. The nurses and aides talk to the residents, recognize the resident's individual "quirks," and adapt their approaches to accommodate different personalities. They are nice to the residents and treat them with caring respect. My father is known by his name, by his condition and by his "quirks." When I visit, I see smiles, I hear laughter and I smell nothing (which all the how-to books say is a good thing). If you are looking for a place for humans to be treated with humanity and respect, Silver Pines is a place to consider.
