After just one night we returned to visit our mother and found her oxygen tank empty. They were cutting pills in half to make it easier to swallow... however, this particular pill has specific instructions written right on the bottle to take whole... do not chew or cut. Nurses sit around the lunch room talking about how much trouble the patients are. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FACILITY!

Every time I'm put on hold here I have to wait quite a while for them to get back to the call. Although I have had to wait longer at other places, I was still pretty unimpressed with their phone etiquette. I will definitely refer my friends and family here. They were great and I think more people should know about them.

The only reason that I called was to give them something and never got the person I wanted as they were not on duty. I am waiting for them to call back.

It isn't that anyone is mean or treats the patients badly, but they really just do the bare minimum. Patients are left sitting in their chairs, wheel chairs or in their beds. They take care of the basic needs, but on more than one occasion there was a man who had wet himself and was visibly embarrassed, but it took the nurses 10 minutes past that to even get to him. My Grandpa spent all day either in his bed or his wheelchair. Once in the summer they had a picnic outside and you could see a glimpse of who these people once were because their minds and senses were being used. It was depressing to see people basically just sitting around in wheelchairs or their beds all day long with their only real mental stimulation being a small tv in a common room. They were waiting around to die while the few nurses on staff in this area took care of medications, cleaning people up and feeding. Just the basic physical needs is what got taken care of. I suspect because there were not enough nurses and they were busy just trying to get the physical needs met first, leaving no time for anything after that.

My grandpa had fallen out of his wheelchair when their physical therapist showed up one week. They didn't strap him in, knowing that he had broken his back in the past and had gone through MANY back surgeries and he couldn't hardly stand up anymore. It wasn't purposeful mind you, but they sure didn't think things through. Then after the incident we got three different stories about what happened. One from the nurse & physical therapist, one from the paramedic who showed up to take my grandpa to the hospital and then another from the head nurse/administrator lady. I know the paramedic and he showed us how he had to have fallen in order to have gotten the head bump that he had. The physical evidence didn't line up with any of the nursing home staff's explanation. When my Grandpa had died they didn't call for a few hours after he had died. Procedure is to contact family immediately, or so we were told, but they didn't do that. Oh yes, another thing, quite often his oxygen was not set at the correct level. He was supposed to be at 4-5 I think it was and when my mother went in to visit him she noticed it was down to 2. When it was brought to the nurses attention she said "oh yeah, you can turn that up if you want". This is not an optional thing, he had to have oxygen set at a certain level.

While I have no personal issues with them and they were all friendly enough, I don't trust the level of care the patients get.
